Scholarships

The program's purpose is to encourage and support eligible students with an established South African connection as they pursue their education at an institution of higher learning

We are happy to announce that SA Potjie in Texas will be awarding $5,000 in scholarships to two eligible students in 2026! Each student will receive a $2,500 scholarship. 

The next cycle of scholarship applications will open on November 18th, 2025.

We thank our sponsors and attendees for making this possible.  

1. Students must be enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning located in the USA (college, university, trade or vocational school). Enrollment is as defined by the registrar of the institution. 
2. The student must have a South African connection. 
3. The online application must be completed and submited by January 4th, 2026.
4. Payment of Scholarship: It is the responsibility of the scholarship recipient to send SA Potjie Texas their verifiable enrollment status documentation by February 8th, 2026. After verification, the SA Potjie Texas will issue the scholarship payment made payable to the student. The scholarship offer will become void if it is not claimed by February 22nd, 2026.
5. Media Coverage: Scholarship winner images and names may be featured on SA Potjie Texas's website and social media channels. Winners must submit a recent photo of themselves (class photo preferred) and may also be asked to have their photos taken at the SA Potjie in Texas in September 2026 if attending.
