Scholarships

The program's purpose is to encourage and support eligible students with an established South African connection as they pursue their education at an institution of higher learning

We are happy to announce that SA Potjie in Texas will award $6,000 in scholarships to three eligible students in 2025! Each student will receive a $2,000 scholarship. 

Submission deadline: January 5, 2025

Committee decision will be published by: January 26, 2025

We thank our sponsors and attendees for making this possible.  

1. Students must be enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning located in the USA (college, university, trade or vocational school). Enrollment is as defined by the registrar of the institution. 
2. The student must have a South African connection. 
3. Online application must be completed and submitted by January 5, 2025. 
4. Committee decision will be published by: January 26, 2025. 
5. Recipients enrollment documentation is due by: February 9, 2025. 
6. The scholarship offer will become void if it is not claimed by February 23, 2025.
7. Payment of Scholarship: It is the responsibility of the scholarship recipient to send SA Potjie Texas their verifiable enrollment status documentation by February 9, 2025. After verification, the SA Potjie Texas will issue the scholarship payment made payable to the student.
8. Media Coverage: Scholarship winner images and names may be featured on SA Potjie Texas's website and social media channels. Winners must submit a recent photo of themselves (class photo preferred) and may also be asked to have their photos taken at the SA Potjie in Texas in September 2025 if attending.
