An opportunity for local vendors to sell authentic South African items such as food, clothing, and crafts, providing a taste of South African culture to customers.
A dance event featuring upbeat Afrikaans music and energetic, fast-paced dancing. This is a social gathering where people of all ages come together to have fun and dance the night away.
A South African barbecue where meat, such as boerewors and steak, is cooked over an open flame. It is a social gathering where friends and family come together to enjoy food, drink, and conversation.
A competition where participants compete to make the best potjie, a traditional slow-cooked stew made in a cast-iron pot over an open fire. Friends and family come together to enjoy food, drink, and friendly competition, all while celebrating South African culture.
A fundraising event where items are displayed, and participants can place bids on a sheet of paper placed next to each item. The highest bidder at the end of the auction wins the item.

The South African Potjie In Texas is a family-friendly event. In the spirit of maintaining this family-friendly atmosphere, we ask that attendees maintain discretion in terms of clothing, behavior, and alcohol consumption throughout the weekend.
We welcome activities from attendees in smaller groups; However, these activities must be in the spirit of, and in co-operation with the South African Potjie in Texas event.
